COVID-19 DAILY HEALTH UPDATE
(Information from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) current as of 1:00 p.m. Central, Thursday, May 28, 2020)

  • Total negative counts: 220,719 (+10,114)
  • Total positive counts: 16,974 (+512)
  • Hospitalizations: 2,452 (+41) or 14%
  • Total deaths: 550 (+11)

URGE U.S. SENATORS TO SUPPORT DIRECT AND FLEXIBLE FUNDING FOR COUNTIES OF ALL SIZES
Last week, the National Association of Counties (NACo) and 49 state associations of counties (including the Wisconsin Counties Association) called on the U.S. Senate to pass a bipartisan relief package that supports counties’ vast health, safety and economic recovery responsibilities.

Join NACo in calling on your U.S. Senators today to support direct and flexible funding for counties of all sizes. Now is the opportune time to reach out to Senators while they are in their states during the Memorial Day recess.

DHS ANNOUNCES $10 MILLION IN FUNDING FOR HEALTH CLINICS
Today the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced $10 million in funding for health care providers serving the state’s most underserved populations. The funds, provided through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, will reimburse clinics for expenses stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020 WCA ANNUAL CONFERENCE HOUSING OPENS JUNE 1ST: REGISTER ONLINE
The 2020 WCA Annual Conference will be held September 20-22, 2020 in Sauk County. Housing for the event opens June 1, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.
